Christine Vota is a native Californian born and raised in the San Francisco Bay Area. Having an interest in art at a young age. She made art her major in college. Attending DVC, Collage of Arts and Crafts, and Monterey Peninsula College.

When she attended art in the 60”s and 70”s the

Abstract Expressionist movement was still very popular. Many artist were also into the Pop,Opp and Found Object movements. She was drawn to the Photorealist movement and the idea of using an airbrush was magical.  However it wasn’t easy to find someone to teach that technique. Because at that time there were not many fine artist using an airbrush. It was considered a commercial tool and there were only a few where were using it for fine art. One was Jerry Ott and the other well know painter was Mel Ramos.

Life moved on for Christine and in order to make a living with her art talent she became a decorative artist and muralist and has had a successful business, Murals Unlimited for 33 years. Creating

faux finishes on cabinetry, walls, ceilings, furniture etc., in many upscale homes in California and Nevada. And has also been hired for commercial projects as well as commissioned paintings and murals.

Still driven to painting Photorealistic painting, she was able to study with several airbrush teachers.

Making her present ability to create airbrush portraits and to capture the essence of the human form a reality and continued challenge. “I would like to paint commissioned Photorealistic portraits and Pinup painting”
