Original Works by Young Artists

I wasn’t sure whether to create a site page or blog post. So I’ll do both. IMG_0767

I have a space in a office building in which I created an art gallery. Yesterday the space had a Reception for the Young Artists from Wren Elementary School. Wren Avenue Elementary is transitioning to be the MDUSD Visual and Performing Arts magnet school. We are creating a collaborative community providing an artistic avenue for students to fulfill high academic expectations in the arts, reading, writing, English language development, math, science and technology.

The picture above features (left to right) Aline Lee – School Principal, Nellie Meyer – Mt. Diablo Unified School Superintendent, Sandi Sherwood ~ President of The Concord Arts Association, Beth Bremer ~ 1st Grade Teacher, Eric Vandetta ~ Kindergarten teacher and Cherise Khaund ~ President at MDUSD Education Foundation.

Sandi Sherwood and I met last year at a fundraiser for the Concord Arts Association and yesterday’s event was successful because of her. She met with the school, worked with them to bring the artwork of the Young Artists into our gallery. Three cheers to her!

Now to see the show visit the gallery Normal hours are Tuesday – Saturday 12-2pm. However this coming Saturday, May 12th we will be open from 1-4pm during the Concord’s Art and Wine walk.

All sales of the Young Artists artwork goes directly back to Wren Elementary. There are a few pieces still available to purchase.

Opening of our next show ~ Anything Goes will be on May 12th. Stop by, meet the artists, meet Beth/Eric from Wren Elementary,  taste some wine, get a snack of cheese and crackers.
